ISKA

Originally founded as the International Sport Karate Association when the birth of kickboxing in America grew out of “Full-Contact Karate,” ISKA is now also recognised globally as the International Sport Kickboxing Association. Since 1986 ISKA has set an unprecedented standard for professionalism and integrity while servings as the world’s most well recognised sanctioning and regulatory body for combat sports and competitive martial arts. ISKA maintains a continued commitment to training and certifying officials and updating rules and regulations while recognising both worthy champions and world-rated contenders in more than twenty different types of martial arts and combat sports.

From Moscow’s Olympic Stadium to Queensland, Victoria, Australia; from Lausanne, Switzerland to Durban, South Africa; from the legendary Lumpini Stadium in Thailand to the Bellagio resort in Las Vegas, live ISKA events worldwide are very well attended and viewed by television audiences circling the globe. Whether it’s the US OPEN ISKA World Martial Arts Championships hosted annually in Disney World and aired on ESPN, or GLORY World Series elite professional kickboxing as seen on SPIKE TV, ISKA maintains its’ involvement in the industry’s cutting edge. Historically this includes STRIKEFORCE MMA as seen on CBS and SHOWTIME as well as K-1 USA, and Chuck Norris’ World Combat League.

The height that the ISKA has attained continues to reflect its basic commitment to credibility and uncompromising integrity. The sports’ future will rely on that commitment in cooperation with the industry’s many talented martial arts / combat sports athletes and the ever-growing foundation of dedicated fans around the world.

IFMA

The International Federation of Muaythai Associations, or IFMA, called the International Federation of Muaythai Amateur until 27 July 2019, is the sole recognised sport governing body of amateur and professional Muay Thai and Muay boran consisting of 130 member countries worldwide with 5 continental federations after unification of International Federation of Muaythai Amateur and World Muaythai Council. IFMA is officially recognised by Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF),[2] the Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations (ARISF), the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA),[3] World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)[4] International World Games Association (IWGA),[5] and Trim and Fitness International Sport for All Association (TAFISA).[6] Muaythai has been included in many official sport programs such as the World Games, World Combat Games, Arafura Games, TAFISA Games, SEA Games, Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, Asian Beach Games,[7] Demonstration Sport in the Asian Games.

WKA

The World Kickboxing Association (WKA) is one of the oldest and the largest amateur and professional sanctioning organisations of kickboxing in the world for the sport. Its official name is "World Kickboxing and Karate Association, however the logo uses World Karate and Kickboxing Association[1]". WKA was created in the United States as the World Karate Association in 1976 by Howard Hanson, a Shorin-Ryu Karate black belt, and Arnold Urquidez. The organisation was the first non-profit governing body to use an independently controlled rating list, the first to establish a world championship division for women and the first to include countries from Asia.[2] The organisation became one of the major sanctioning bodies for professional karate. Early stars of the WKA included Benny "The Jet" Urquidez, Don "The Dragon" Wilson, Kevin Rosier and Graciela Casillas. The organisation went on to secure network broadcasts in the US and Japan.[2] Howard Hanson sold the WKA to Dale Floyd in 1991.[3] WKA developed the field of low kicks thanks to strong Asian and Japanese connections. WKA is based in Auckland, New Zealand has prospered throughout Europe, Asia, Oceania, Africa, and in North America. In 1994, Paul Ingram took over the organisation. From 29 September 2012 WKA had a new management: Michele Panfietti World President and Cristiano Radicchi General Secretary. From December 2016 the management was passed back to Mr Paul Ingram, and the WKA headquarters was transferred back to Birmingham, England. December 2018, David Sawyer based out of New Zealand took over the management of the WKA, he is the current World President. The organisation became one of the major sanctioning bodies for professional karate.

WMC

The WMC is the authoritative body for regulating Muaythai, both in Thailand and around the world. Set up by parliament resolution, the WMC is incorporated by the Royal Thai Government and sanctioned by the Sports Authority of Thailand, working together with the highest sport authorities of all member countries around the world to regulate all aspects of the art and sport of Muaythai. The inauguration meeting was held in 1995 at an appropriate venue, the United Nation Conference Centre with representatives from 39 countries attended. Presently there are 120 member countries registered with the WMC. The Executive Board and various committees ranging from technical and rules, refereeing and judging, medical, finance, youth, women, press and public relations, business and legal; all were democratically elected.

The Council has been charged with the responsibility for the expansion of Muaythai worldwide. This involves supporting youth interest and athletes to learn the skills of Muaythai and to assist in the pursuit of excellence in the art.

The Council’s primary objective is to maintain and promote excellence in the art of Muaythai. This is predominantly as a cultural art-form, in addition as a form of self-defence and a popular ring-sport. Together with the above stated aims, the WMC has the government’s directive to regulate all Muaythai competitions worldwide, this in accordance with the government-approved Articles of Association.
